To play you have to register with your FB account or play as a guest, but if you do so, you obviously won’t have access to all the features. The game wants you to register with FB so it can have access to your friends list, because you will collect coins for every friend you are referring to the app.
Every game you play on Backgammon King is worth a number of coins. The more you play and win coins, the more you can access games with higher stakes. The platform also offers the possibility to create a private game with your friends and to participate in daily challenges and tournaments. The app doesn’t offer the possibility to have a match play or to use the doubling cube. This is a flaw that I would like to see fix, not only on Backgammon King but on many other social backgammon.
If you are a successful player, you will increase your position on the ranking and thus gain access to more challenges.
If you are short in coins, you can buy some for few dollars, or watch commercial video in order to get some. Be aware that having a lot of coins won’t make you rich because you have no way to change them back for real money. You will just have the pride to be the richest player on the platform.
Graphically, Backgammon King is pleasant but not as good as other social games like Lord of the board or Backgammon Ace. For what I saw, there is only one kind of board available and I find the checkers movements a bit stiff compared to other backgammon platforms an apps.

Backgammon King is just an average social backgammon game like many others. It has the same flaws as the other one, but don’t really bring anything new or special on the table. It is definitely not my first choice to play recreational backgammon online.

This is the most rigged game on the internet. Horrible place to play. They should be shut down for stealing money from people who pay for coins then play a rigged game. It’s theft
Worse than lord of the board but not by much
I think backgammon king is flawed and that it is predetermined who will win before starting, rolls don’t make sense getting held in the back game for 6 or 8 rolls when there are three and four open spaces doesn’t make sense double 6s when it’s the one space occupied many irregularities
